Worm race competition in conjunction with Independence Day festivities. People
have come from around the world to compete, and from many walks of life,
including senators and congressmen. In 1980, NBC had television cameras from the
show "Real People" to film the races. Camera crews from "Animal

Clearlake International Worm
Races, July
Worm race competition in conjunction with Independence Day festivities. People
have come from around the world to compete, and from many walks of life,
including senators and congressmen. In 1980, NBC had television cameras from the
show "Real People" to film the races. Camera crews from "Animal
Planet", CBS and "Bay Area Back Roads" have joined in the fun
also.

Lakeport Yacht Club, 5th Street
Set in beautiful Lake County, Pedal the Puddle features three challenging event
courses. Riders can opt for the leisurely 30 mile course that winds through the
resort and vineyard sections of north Lakeport; for the more adventuresome
riders, the event also offers a 65 mile course and endurance testing 100 mile
course, both of which follow the north and east rim of Clear Lake and wind into
the foothills of the south and west, offering breathtaking views of the lake and
vineyards, which are in full bloom in October.
